It's been a while

Wow, it's been almost three weeks since the last post. I guess time flies when you are having fun... or at least should be having fun. In any case I did not abandon my photographic quest. All through that time I've been taking pictures, lots of them. I even took my camera to work, and during lunch times I've been driving around in search of that elusive perfection. This is not an easy task, especially in winter. Roads become narrower, and there are not a lot of places one can actually stop. So the pictures weren't satisfactory. Have to come up with a better plan....

Last Sunday, I've decided to go out, with a good friend of mine, to check out areas a bit north of Edmonton. The day was sunny, but very windy, so it was beautiful and freezing. After a bit of driving we found the field (pictured above). There were no fences to climb through, and the far away trees looked great against the backdrop of the blue sky. So we stopped, got our gear, and started walking. It was cold...very cold. But treading through that knee high snow, and braving the winds resulted is some interesting shots.

When we got back into the car, and finally warmed up a bit (thank heavens for heated seats!), we continued on. We didn't travel far, when totally by accident found an abandoned farm that was easily accessible. Meaning no fence, and no gate... and no angry owners. We spent a good hour, just exploring the building and surrounding area.
