Regrettably, I did not have a chance recently to go and photograph snowflakes, despite of it’s snowing on and off quite often.. It is not as simple as one would think. It takes a good macro lens, a steady hand, good shooting conditions and a goodly amount of warm clothing, so that you don’t freeze, being stationary for long time in -20oC weather
Playing With Snow
One of my favorite things to do, after a fresh snowfall, is to go out and look for nice snowflakes to photograph. Snowflakes are quite fascinating and so lovely to look at. It needs to be rather cold for perfect snowflakes to form and stay that way for a bit. If it's too windy, they will be blown away or, simply, be destroyed (not mentioning impossibility to focus one's lens on them). If it's sunny they will melt..

Beauty of a Snowflake - Part 3
When it's snowing I just cannot resist taking my camera with macro lens out and see if I can catch a snowflake or two. It's been snowing a lot this winter so it is not a big surprise that I have some more shots to share again... I have shown you a few of those before (Beauty of a Snowflake - Part 1, Beauty of a Snowflake - Part 2) and I'm hoping that you like them as much as I do and won't be completely bored ;). So, here they are! Enjoy! Kasia
Beauty of a Snowflake - Part 2
As I have mentioned in the first blog regarding snowflakes (Beauty of a Snowflake - Part 1) they have always fascinated me. I'm pretty sure, most of us don't mind at all looking at them when we have a chance ;) so today I would like to share some more of my pictures of these lovely things. Considering how long our winters last, I'm pretty sure, I will be out there yet again, trying to get some shots, when the conditions are right. Freezing outside is not my idea of fun, but I am willing to sacrifice myself for the right cause ;). I hope you guys enjoy! Happy Monday to us all!!! Kasia
Beauty of a Snowflake - Part 1
Fascinating things - snowflakes! Each unique and beautiful, shining in the rays of sun and showing, yet again, the marvel that Nature is.. They are so delicate that a breath can destroy them and they last only a moment, when it's very cold. I love watching them! The world looks so beautiful when it's covered with sparkly layer of white, fresh snow. And, even though I don't really like winter I cannot help but admire it's beauty at such a time.. I would like to share with you a few of the macros I've managed to capture so far. I hope you like them as much as I do! Kasia
