Lifestyle Photography: A boy and his dog

I was playing with 645 Pro photo app on the iphone.  It's quite an interesting app, with a lot of options for film and format.  Then edited via Snapseed app.  They were done while on a walk with Konrad and our little dog Atos.  He's not little anymore mind you.  I think he doubled in size in the last month and a half.  At least he's a good mosquito catcher, of which we have an abundance.  Atos is doing his part.  Here are some of the photos from that walk.  Enjoy! sky clouds summer plane edmonton photographer

Before the winter comes - Part 1

I think that absolutely the best iPhone camera application is Hipstamatic.  With the wide arrangements of lenses films and effects, it gives the user a great outlet for creativity.  I hardly ever use the normal camera application in the iPhone.  Hipstamatic is permanent fixture of the front page applications, for easy and quick access.  Yes it only simulates certain old school film types and lenses, but it does it quite brilliantly.  Here are some  shots I took with it while driving around, one day during a lovely foggy, sad day.  Enjoy. Denver - Flight

Yes I'm getting behind again.  This trip was almost a month ago, but with the amount of pictures lately, it's been tough to keep things current.  Nonetheless it 's the pictures that really matter.  So Denver  was our destination.  It was a business trip, and unfortunately I did not see much of the city.  The hotel we stayed in was quite a ways away, and most of the day was spent learning.  I did bring my camera with me, because I figured that if I ask nicely I could get some boudoir shoots done.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.  Here are some shots taken with Hipstamatic during the flight.  Enjoy. Gloomy End of Summer

So despite being in denial about the end of summer here in Edmonton, I do have to finally acknowledge that it is ending.  Usually the end of summer is one of my favourite times of the year.  It's usually an explosion of nature colours, wonderful time of morning mists, and cold blue skies.  Technically we are still in the summer months, but it wasn't it like this last monday.  The beginning of the week woke up cold and gloomy.  Like this. I think I should find some happier pictures.

Kids

Funny thing just occurred to me.  I take lots of photos, of everything, but hardly any of my own family.  Maybe it's because I see them all the time?  I don't know.  So that's why I put this compilation of photos, from a couple of our trips this summer.  Yeah I know, my kids are cute.... I mean all you have to do is, look at their parents :)  Enjoy. Sebastian

Got me a bike.

Bike So I finally got myself a proper bicycle.  One that fits me.  Since I learned to ride a bike at 4 years old, I fell in love with it.  Never was into competitive or serious riding, just for myself.  I used to spend hours on a bike when I was a little younger.  Just riding where I could.

Bike

After starting my professional life of work, I forgot about it, and I tried from time to time, to get a bike, but none were big enough.

Bike

After having some little heart problems lately... I've decided to visit a proper bike shop, and lo' and behold they had one that fit me.  Amazing!  Funny didn't even realize that the company "Devinci" is actually a Canadian company.  Makes the bike even more special.

Bike

Next thing I found was an iPhone app called Cyclemeter. This is a perfect app for bike riding.  It uses the GPS in the iPhone to track and save your routes, with speed, times, and then if you ride the same route it will compare your time and speed and all the other parameters.  Very very cool app.

Bike

Since I got the app, there had to be a way of mounting it on the bike.  Of course no one locally carries any of that stuff, which is strange considering the popularity of an iPhone.  So I did some research on the net and found a very nice mounts from RAM.  It was a 5 minute install, and it holds the iPhone very securely.  Perfect.

Bike

So now I can ride and ride and ride.... like the wind.... or a little breeze :)

Apple iPad

Well the iPad is an absolutely amazing little device. Since the time in the hospital I've been using it to work, edit pictures, blog, play games...etc. Yes you saw that right, edit pictures. I have found this awesome application for the iPad called "Photo fx Ultra". It can add all kinds of different effects to your photos, with a lot of settings. Using my iPhone, I can transfer the photos via another app to the iPad, then edit the photos to my liking and using "Blogpress" app I can post all of this to my blog. Yes I can do all that with a laptop, but the cheapest Macintosh laptop is about $1000, and the iPad is about half the price, also it's smaller, has an amazing touch screen, and the battery lasts almost forever. It is definitely like a little laptop replacement, with amazing features. Here are some shots taken with the iPhone then edited on the iPad. Enjoy!

Hipstamatic

I found this great little app for the iPhone, called Hipstamatic.  It's a combination of old film, lenses, and flashes from old manual cameras.  It can create some very interesting effects with your photos.  I've been playing around with it for a bit, and I really like it.  You can pair up different lenses and different films, or you can just shake the iPhone and the application will randomize everything, giving you a very different and unique effect.  Like this.
