I know, I know it is winter and everybody posts winter photography, but I am not ready for it yet. I see it outside my window every day, so I want to see something warm, colorful and pretty. Hope you are in need of this as well.
How Summer Began
A Pretty Sunset
Landscape photography is always dependent on weather conditions. That’s why it requires a lot of work and expense to produce truly captivating shot (unless someone is using a computer generated sky cloning, that is). Personally I prefer waiting for the perfect sky and visit places over and over again to capture them.
From Sunrise to the Dark of Night
April in Banff National Park can mean lots of snow, heavy skies, sunshine and no snow what-so-ever.. One never knows what one will find when travelling Rockies in spring. This particular time, the weather was sunny and relatively warm. Not much snow anywhere, either, except on higher elevations. Perfect condition for explorations as well as braving sunrises and sunsets and night photo sessions.
Rockies in Black and White
It has been a while, since the last time I have created a post. Time flies, as they say ;D. Summer has arrived hereon the prairies and with it a strong heatwave. It is a long one, too and with temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius, some days reaching 40 degrees, I find myself, surprisingly, longing for winter…

August in Elk Island
Banff in October - Part 3
One cannot be in Banff NP and not visit Lake Louise. I’m sure I have said it many times before, but this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. No matter what time of year I am there, I always find myself taking a long time to explore the surrounding area and taking lots and lots of pictures.
Elk Island in Black and White
Those who follow our blog know that I am rarely in the habit of processing my pictures in monochrome. I love colors, all colors. I use photography as a medium to brighten my world, especially in winter months, when we are stack to see the blacks, browns, whites and blues, most of the time bleached out, lacking saturation. Having said that, I believe that some pictures just have to be processed in black and white.

A Trip to Vancouver - Part 1
I can’t believe it has been almost a year since we have enjoyed our last trip to Vancouver, BC. We have had only a few days to drive there, visit a bit and drive back, however, we have taken a ton of pictures along the way. The weather was, mostly, great, the views fantastic and the fall colors everywhere.

Traveling Alberta - On The Way To Waterton
Alberta has many things to offer to a traveler. There are wonderful prairies, out-of-this-world hoodoos, lakes, forests and magnificent mountains. Every year, we try to visit different part of the province with the kids, always bringing back a lot of pictures with us. Some of the shots have to wait quite a while before I can share them with everybody.
Memories of Harvest
It is hard to only be able to see winter for months on end. It lasts so long, here in Alberta, that the need to turn to memories of warmer, more colorful months is often overwhelming. As much as the weather is nice right now, we still have a lot of snow on the ground and I find myself missing colors and warmth of summer months. I'm quite happy that I am able to easily indulge in seeing pictures I took during those months
A Winter Visit to the Rockies
A while back we took a day trip to the mountains. We like to do this from time to time, even if it means that we end up spending most of a day driving. We get up early, pack sandwiches and snacks, winter gear and cameras and take our family out to the Rockies. There is just something that draws us there over and over again...
