The snow is mostly gone, here on the prairies, but it will be some weeks before we see greenery and flowers blooming. I can’t wait! It has been a long winter and I sure could use a bit of color. Late spring or early summer images are great for it because all is fresh and green is bright and not dimmed by dust of late summer days.
How Summer Began
A Pretty Sunset
Landscape photography is always dependent on weather conditions. That’s why it requires a lot of work and expense to produce truly captivating shot (unless someone is using a computer generated sky cloning, that is). Personally I prefer waiting for the perfect sky and visit places over and over again to capture them.

April Sunset at Elk Island
The summer is in full swing now. We are all enjoying wonderful colors surrounding us wherever we go. I still remember, though, all the spring months, when I was impatiently awaiting this to happen. Being short of time, I really appreciated the rare moments when we could escape the city for a couple of hours and visit Elk Island National Park

March on the Prairies
End of March on the prairies.. Depending on the year, it may be that there is still a lot of snow outside the city, or, it might be mostly gone. It maybe sunny or it may be snowing or raining.. Sometimes the days are warm, sometimes it can get into -20oC for a few days.. You never know what you can find traveling the prairies.

Memories of Harvest
It is hard to only be able to see winter for months on end. It lasts so long, here in Alberta, that the need to turn to memories of warmer, more colorful months is often overwhelming. As much as the weather is nice right now, we still have a lot of snow on the ground and I find myself missing colors and warmth of summer months. I'm quite happy that I am able to easily indulge in seeing pictures I took during those months
One May Sunset
It has been a few years since we have taken this ride into the rural Alberta one May evening. The weather was good, the prairies called and we went to visit one of our favorite places to see what was happening. It wasn't the most beautiful of a sunset, but we still enjoyed ourselves driving along Alberta roads,
