I was invited the other day for a quick, impromptu photo session. Didn't have much time to think what I should take, so I took most of my gear. Better be safe (and tired) than sorry, I guess. For the fun of it, I packed my Pentax film camera with me as well. We didn't have a lot of time to shoot, since the sun was going down, but we made the most of it. The digital shots need to be processed still, but I managed to develop the film yesterday. Enjoy!
Looking for spring in analogue b&w.
We are finally enjoying nice warm weather. A couple weeks back, I took the kids, and my little film camera to look for spring. It was a wonderful sunny warm day, and we had a blast. Here are some analogue signs of spring in black and white. Enjoy.
Abandoned Alberta in Black and White
These pictures are from one of my trips around the country side. This is the one I got completely lost. Took too many turns, and wasn't really paying too much attention where I was going. You can find a lot of these abandoned buildings and houses all over. Some are accessible, some are in the middle of a farmer's field, with no access what so ever. It's quite interesting, and most are great subject for photography. One particular house, had a very eerie feel to it. Middle of the day, and I had really bad feeling about it. Spooky. I marked that one on the map for a later visit, once the snow melts. Enjoy.
Alberta Winterscapes
Winter this year has been long and even though it's March 3, it's snowing and still -20C outside. I thought maybe if I pay tribute to Winter with these pictures it might finally go away. We can only hope. Enjoy.
Denver - Kari
Before I flew into Denver I messaged about 20 models in the Denver area, through Model Mayhem. It's a great site for finding aspiring models to practice one's photographic skills with. This is where I met Kari White. Although it was a short session, she was great to work with, and I think I managed to pull off a few good images. Enjoy.

Edmonton Streets in Black and White
Street photography, for me, is not an easy task. I'm afraid of people. That's why having a long lens makes a big difference. With the 100-400mm zoom I can take shots from across the street, and people are none the wiser what I'm pointing my camera at. Too bad the lens is white, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. To my surprise, people here in Edmonton are very friendly towards photographers, and usually do not mind at all having their picture taken. Some will actually try to "strike a pose", which is nice, but it does not go along my view of "reporter" style photos. Here are some shots of unsuspecting people around Edmonton downtown. Enjoy.
Whispers in the sky
Took this photo, while in my back yard, just looking up. I thought the clouds were very interesting, and decided to snap a shot or two. Actually it came to about 20, but this one came out the best. :)
