Because we did not have time restriction during our October visit to the Rockies, this allowed us to stay out longer and take some night time pictures. It is a weird feeling to be in wilderness surrounded by darkness, not knowing what you might encounter. We try to, usually, make a bit of noise to alert the wildlife about our presence hoping, that the animals are smart enough to avoid us. In most cases it works, but there were a few times over the years that we were a bit too close to them without realizing it. Fortunately, this time we were spared that and were able to enjoy the peace of a night time in the mountains in all the places we have stopped.
