The snow is mostly gone, here on the prairies, but it will be some weeks before we see greenery and flowers blooming. I can’t wait! It has been a long winter and I sure could use a bit of color. Late spring or early summer images are great for it because all is fresh and green is bright and not dimmed by dust of late summer days. We are lucky here in Edmonton having such an easy access to Elk Island National Park. Some say it is one of the most boring Canadian parks, but I don’t care. It is a perfect escape from the city, especially when one is not blessed with copious amounts of time.

So let me share some colorful images from a few early summer visits at Elk Island Park, with some gorgeous greenery and lovely sunset shots. They should be enough to allow us to survive those days when we crave some sumptuous colors and cannot rely on reality to deliver ;). Enjoy!
