Elk Island in Black and White

Those who follow our blog know that I am rarely in the habit of processing my pictures in monochrome. I love colors, all colors. I use photography as a medium to brighten my world, especially in winter months, when we are stack to see the blacks, browns, whites and blues, most of the time bleached out, lacking saturation. Having said that, I believe that some pictures just have to be processed in black and white. They just don’t look well in color. Today, I decided to share some shots I took over the last year in Elk Island NP, that, for one reason or another, had to be processed in monochrome. Don’t ask me for a conscious reason behind my choice of post processing, because I won’t be able to explain. It just felt right… I hope you will enjoy this post as much as the other, more colorful ones ;D
