Fuji in Europe Part 14 - The Walhalla Memorial

Walhalla Memorial

Built in 1830, by then king of Bavaria King Ludwig I, as a hall of fame to honour all distinguished and famous people in German history spanning about 2000 years.  There are busts and paintings of these individuals.  It stands on the steep bank of the Danube river, overlooking the country side.  It's a quite an impressive structure, and to me quite odd in a Bavarian setting. Even though it's a memorial to all the famous people, I found it a little odd that it would be built in a greek pantheon style.  Still an impressive location in a country full of surprises.

Gear

Mainly this was shots with the silent Fuji X100s, but I've used the fish-eye again for fun, landscape shots. It would be a great location for future sunrise session. Maybe one of these days I will come back and be there for the sunrise.  Not any time soon, unfortunately.
