Winter Sunrise With A Bison

One good thing about winter is that you don’t have to get up at some ungodly hour of the night to shoot a sunrise. Since Mac was complaining lately that he had not done any photography for a while, I decided to drag him to Elk Island for a sunrise, at the beginning of December. It was a cold, frosty morning, but we were dressed warmly and were ready to spend a couple of hours out in the elements. We were lucky to encounter a bison herd at Bison Loop as well. Such a lovely sight to see them all highlighted by the pink rays of the rising sun, too! The frost covered grasses and other plants were sparkling all over. It is such a pity that a normal picture cannot truly show all the glory of all that glitter! After staying for a bit at Bison Loop, we took a ride around the park and on a couple of neighboring roads before we drove back home. Here is a few pictures I shot that morning. Enjoy!
