After a tiring yet wonderful walk around Manhattan and Central Park, and a beautiful sunrise on the beach, our host, Dominick Chiuchiolo, took us for a little drive on Long Island.
Autumn at Elk Island
It's been a while since we last visited and posted something from Elk Island National Park (Spring at Elk Island). We went for a short trip there to capture a sunrise a couple of weeks ago. The sunrise was not very spectacular due to the thick layer of clouds, but soon after the sky started to clear a bit and we decided to stick around for a moment longer to go and check a few of our favorite places. We got lucky and spotted a few animals as well. The thing about nature photography is that it really brings me a lot of pleasure to be able to capture some animals in their natural environment, but it also allows me to experience that environment. And if I'm lucky it is as spectacular as it was that day! Here is a few shots from that trip. I must say, I really like Elk Island dressed in fall colors ;D Kasia
Fall leafs in Jasper
Last time I was in Jasper, the fall was in full swing. That morning when me and my family arrived, it was a little frosty. It was most evident on the colorful leaves. I have borrowed the macro lens from my wife, tried to capture it. Here are the results. Enjoy!
Fall with the Family
We were quite lucky this year. We actually had a very warm and beautiful fall. Best of it was that we were able to go out a few times and enjoy it as a family. Right now when the cold of winter is snapping at you when ever you go, it is so nice to sit down with a warm cup of tea, and remember the beauty of the world, the sound of laughter, and the warmth of the sun. Enjoy.
Fall is here
Fall is here. This starts a great season in colours, and beauty, as the world prepares itself for the long winter ahead. At least here in Edmonton. Our apple trees were, again, very fruitful this year. We have so much of all kinds of different apple preserves from the years before, that this year we let it go. It saddens me to all that fruit unpicked, but then when I remember the amount of work it takes to go through one batch of these, I just shake my head and let the apples fertilize the ground.
Alberta Autumn Morning
This morning I left home early, to be able to visit a new lake, before the sunrise. Good thing the sun does not rise at 5am, so waking up wasn't that big of a problem. The lake is called Devil's Lake, and situated close to Stony Plain, which in turn is very close to where I work. Managed to arrive just after the sunrise, and was greeted with spectacular views. The lake is situated in a very picturesque valley. Lots of morning fog and greens, golds, and reds of the trees around the lake. Tried to capture the beauty, but if I did I will let you decide. Thoughts?

Autumn Morning
This morning was particularly beautiful. The night rain left some nice small water puddles on the deck. So while drinking my morning coffee, I grabbed my camera and took a couple of shots. I really like the way the sun was reflecting in those water puddles. I couldn't help myself, and put the Cokin starburst filter on the lens. Then I've noticed that my neighbor's vine, that grows on his garage looked very nice in the morning sun. Thoughts?
