The snow is mostly gone, here on the prairies, but it will be some weeks before we see greenery and flowers blooming. I can’t wait! It has been a long winter and I sure could use a bit of color. Late spring or early summer images are great for it because all is fresh and green is bright and not dimmed by dust of late summer days.

We are lucky here in Alberta, because some nights are full of light show. We had a couple of gorgeous Aurora showing last fall and I have managed to capture some shots without leaving the city.

How Summer Began

After a few times of waking up at 3 am, to be able to arrive at the famous Abraham Lake for sunrise, we got smart. We decided to find a hotel as close to the lake as possible and stay overnight. That's what we did.

Yesterday was a perfect day for blowing bubbles in Edmonton. Hardly any wind, nice and warm. A perfect summer day. Face it, does not matter ho old I am, I'm always mesmerized with the slowly floating, color swirling, gentle, fragile, soap bubbles. Kids were having a hoot running around the yard popping them, so I grabbed my camera to get some of the bubble action. The bubbles were not very easy to capture. Because of their translucency the autofocus wasn't working very well. Out of about 100 pictures I got only these to show off. So enjoy.
