Macro in Green

Macro in Green

I’ve always loved shooting macros, but this year the ability to go out to take pictures of colorful, sparkly things has become my sanity. It’s been a crazy time for all of us. I’m sure others have found different ways of dealing with the stress and annoyances of our current situation but for me, there is nothing better than getting up early in the morning, or going out in the early evening and taking pictures.

Windowsill World of Plants

Mac has mentioned in his post that he needs some colour, being tired of the browns of the surrounding world.  I can relate! It is going to take us a few more weeks before we see anything green sticking out of the ground.. But, fear not! I can definitely help you there :).  You can always go and check out some of my previous posts with colourful flowers and greenery or take a look at these most recent ones.  Just the other day I was watering my own house plants and carelessly sprayed them with water. The result was rather eye-catching so, of course, I grabbed my camera and recorded the whole thing.  Take a look. Feast your eyes with some juicy colour and survive till our outside world turns green.  Enjoy! Kasia

Bubble Girl

The story of happy, bubble girl, as she gazed in amazement at the light dancing inside these little bubbles of water.  The delicate sound of pops, as they floated with the breeze with smiles and wonder.  Through the greens of the fields, and high of the trees, she smiled and laughed at their exquisite poetry and chaos of motion. Then she picked up their song, and in the light of the fading sun, she danced, lost in the breeze.

Look down...closely

On a recent walk with my family, on the trails surrounding the Pigeon Lake Provincial park, I decided to look down, and see what can be seen.  You would be surprised to see what happens around your feet, when walking on a trail in forest.  This time the spiders weaving their webs, were largely predominant.  Also they are usually very patient posers, and will happily pose, and smile just so I could get a decent shot of them.  Also the dappled light on the forest floor paints wonderful light designs.  So next time you go for a walk, try looking down.  You might find something interesting to photograph. Suzi X and Effie Ether

A few weeks ago, my very good friend Randy Pond asked me if I wanted to test my strength and go on a little photo shoot with him.  I agreed, but was a little apprehensive if I could carry my equipment, or at least part of it.  Randy arranged everything, the models the place to shoot, he even picked me up from home.  He is one cooool guy.  Here are some shots from that little outing.  Enjoy. Celebrating Spring

Spring Time I decided to post this photo in celebration of spring.  It's an old one.  This was shot for a challenge called "Grass".  I could not think of anything to make grass interesting subject, and then this idea popped into my head.  Even though this was taken almost 2 years ago, I still remember it vividly, and not for the reasons you might think :).  We were in the public park where we figured the grass would be nicest.  The camera was placed on the ground with some rice bags for support.  I had my wife lay down, and I set the focus, composition and set the 10sec automatic timer.  When I pressed the shutter, I had to run into position with my beautiful yellow jokey shorts around my ankles.  Just so  you know we were fully clothed, twisted we might be, but we are not exhibitionists :).  Still people were giving us confused and dirty looks. Luckily no one called the police.  So here it is, the fruit of our labour.  A beautiful picture, perfect for celebrating spring.
